ASCHIANA, Afghanistan’s Children – a New Approach, is an Afghan NGO registered in 1995 and since then it has been assisting thousands of street children affected by war and their families across Afghanistan through programmes ranging from direct assistance to micro finance, literacy and education, vocational and arts training, and awareness raising on landmines. ASCHIANA collaborates with several Ministries in the country, local communities and with International and Afghan NGOs in the field of child protection and child rights.  ASCHIANA has started the project “Atfal – Children in Conflict with the Law not with Justice” in the field of Juvenile Justice financed by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and CIAI – Italian Association for Aid to Children. The project includes direct support to Kabul and Herat JRCs, community development and technical assistance to relevant institutions with the aim to strengthen the JJ system in Kabul and Herat.
