Aga Khan University, Academic Projects Afghanistan (AKU-APA) is an extension of the Aga Khan University (AKU), chartered as an international University with campuses and academic programs in eight countries across three continents. AKU-APA, through various academic entities of AKU has been supporting national academic institutions in Afghanistan since 2002 for their capacity building. These include Ghazanfar Institute of Health Sciences (GIHS), Kabul and its regional satellites for nursing and midwifery education, Kabul Medical University for its baccalaureate program in nursing and for post graduate medical education (PGME), Mental Health and Drug Dependency Resistance for its human resource redevelopment and also teachers training programs. It is also supporting the PGME program of French Medical Institute for Children (FMIC), Kabul. AKU-APA is also managing, along with Badakhshan Institute of Health Sciences, a diploma in nursing education and mother and childcare research projects in Faizabad, Badakhshan. AKU also awards scholarships to bright Afghan students to study baccalaureate and masters program in Nursing, Medicine and Education at its Karachi campus. A  Training and Policy Unit at GIHS, Kabul and a research project in Mother and Childcare in Badakhshan have also been initiated.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Afghan national.
  • Masters in Nursing from a recognized institution is preferred, however well qualified and good BScN and Diploma candidates can be considered.
  • 3-5 years experience relevant to this position.
  • Pleasant personality and diplomatic abilities.
  • Good organizational and management skills.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
  • Computer literate in Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and internet.
