Establish the schedule, methods and procedures for the review of detailed Engineering design and construction drawing of the bridges, culverts and other structures for the project,
Consider data available on topography (topographic maps, stereoscopic aerial photography), storm duration, rainfall statistics, top soil characteristics, vegetation cover etc. so as to assess the catchments areas and hydraulic parameters for all existing and proposed drainage provisions.
Preparing reports, designs and drawings.
Making calculations about loads and stresses.
Obtain information of high flood level (HFL), low water level (LWL), discharge velocity etc. from available past records, local inquires and visible signs, if any, on the structural components and embankments to check the design of the bridges and structures.
Ensure that the assessment of the load capacity or rating of existing bridges have been carried out to ensure they are safe for the design axle load;
Review General Arrangement Drawing (GAD) and Alignment Plan showing the salient features of the bridges and structures proposed to be constructed / reconstructed along the road sections, such as alignment, overall length, span arrangement, cross section, deck level, founding level, type of bridge components (superstructure, substructure, foundations, bearings, expansion joint, return wall etc.)

Providing technical advice.
Obtaining planning and/or building regulations approval.
Liaising with relevant professional staff.
Ensure that design finalized is based upon hydraulic and geotechnical studies, cost effectiveness and ease of construction and design of protective works, slope stabilization measures, erosion control measures, land slide control/protection measures, snow drift control/snow clearance measures, avalanche protection measures, if required, have been included;
Review the submitted documents accordance with design standards, criteria and conceptual design provided in the Contract. The Consultant will complete the review within 21 days after submission of the documents to enable finalization and commencement of construction bridges, culvert to ensure completion of the project time.
Ensure that the Technical specifications in the Bid Documents and the Interim Road Standards of MPW have been duly taken into account in preparation of the design documents provided by MPW.
Provided periodic status reports of the design and review activities as measured against the approved schedule, identify any problems and difficulties encountered and propose solutions.
Monitoring and inspecting work undertaken by contractors.
Administering related construction activities in Project.
Inspecting properties to check conditions/foundations.
Review and approval of the detail construction schedule of bridges, culverts in consultation with Team Leader;
Establish schedule, methods and procedures for review of the construction of bridges, culverts and other structures by the contractor; Review and approve the mix design of concrete of RCC structures submitted by the Contractor, and ensure it meet the requirement of the Contract specifications;
Review geotechnical investigation requirements of the bridges and other structures in the project.
Review design of shuttering and scaffolding for its safety during construction of bridges by Contractor;
Prepare suitable organization structure for quality control in consultation with Quality Engineer expert;
Assist Resident Engineer with certification of the due quantity and quality of all works, based on cross-checking of on-site approvals by the Field assistant Resident Engineers;
