Midwife At least 3 years of experience working in Afghanistan health sector especially implementation of midwifery programs. Demonstrated proficiency in competency-based clinical training, or the ability and willingness to rapidly increase skills. Excellent programming, management and decision making skills Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills in English, Dari and/or Pashto. Good computer skills, including competence in word processing and internet/e-mail. Field oriented and comfortable with a team approach to programming and the ability to manage several activities simultaneously. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues in a complex and rapidly changing environment. Ability and willingness to travel to Afghanistan provinces (including rural areas) for significant amounts of time without Mahram or overseas as requested.
Actively contribute to the planning and implementation of HEMAYAT Project activities especially those related to midwifery at provincial level, in coordination with HEMAYAT Project provincial
staff, Provincial Public Health Directorate (PPHD), BPHS implementers and stakeholders at provincial level.
Assist with preparation of action plans and regular activity reports of HEMAYAT Midwifery Programs and professional associations at provincial level.
Carry out field visits of project implementation sites for the purposes of monitoring, evaluation, research, mentoring and advocating for project activities.
Represent HEMAYAT at provincial level and participate in provincial level coordination meetings
Support project workshops, trainings and meetings at provincial level
Contribute in strengthening midwifery pre-service and in-service education programs at provincial level.
Identify, document and communicate information and experiences, lessons learned, and success stories with HEMAYAT main office and stakeholders.
Provide support to Harmonized Quality Improvement Program (HQIP)implementation at provincial level
Support professional associations to conduct their advocacy events including Annual Congress, International Day of the Midwife (IDM), International Nurses Day (IND), Mothers’ Night and Board meetings.
Comply with HEMAYAT project operational, security and other guidelines and policies.
