Minimum 3- 5 years of work experience in hospitals are preferred
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
Ability to work in mobile clinics travelling to different areas of Mazar-e-Sharif and if needed in provinces.
Ability to speak Dari, Pashto and write medical reports in English.
Have the extreme patience and abilities required for working with children.
Be punctual, on time, and able to meet deadlines.
Able to travel to provinces when required.
The Medical Doctor will be responsible to manage the operations SEHAT or Supporting Education through Health Assistance and Treatment in Mazar-e-Sharif, Balk province – Afghanistan.
Provide project oversight and coordination on site for the SEHAT project ensuring adherence to all the project log frame and all project specifications, rules and related regulatory standards and guidelines.
The Medical Doctor will be responsible to oversee the provision of health services /treatments to orphans and his/ her families and will particularly perform the following duties and responsibilities under the direct supervision of the Field Coordinator/Health & Nutrition Program Officer:
To plan and implement of Supporting Education through Health Assistance and Treatment (SEHAT) Field.
Visit the beneficiaries via IRA mobile clinic on the basis of the schedule being provided by Field Coordinator/Health & Nutrition Program Officer.
Provide health education and counseling to the communities through Community-Based Sessions which will be held by IRA.
Should do the treatment of beneficiaries with minor illnesses and advice on referral of the beneficiaries with serious health problems to IRA’s contracted hospital.
Should be in close contact with IRA’s contracted hospital and follow up the treatment of the referred beneficiaries.
Prescribe the appropriate medical treatment
Prescribe the appropriate drugs in accordance with rational drug use guidelines.
Write reports on status of the beneficiaries.
Ensure beneficiaries’ Medical files are updated regularly and all documents are kept properly.
Write Treatment Completion Report for the beneficiaries in case of long treatment.
Be in close contact and coordination with Field Assistant and Medical Assistant.
Identify and report immediately any problems which interfere in the delivery of services or in achieving the program’s objectives to Field Coordinator/Health & Nutrition Program Officer.
Any other tasks assigned by the line supervisor
Ensure adherence to the IR Child Protection Policy
